The intricate forms, colours and textures of the intertidal zone became design inspirations and an obsession for me. A lot of time was spend crouched beside tidal pools, with my Canon 7D and a macro lens. I gathered up marine biology books to learn about the things I photographed, read the stories of Ed Ricketts and John Steinbeck and crossed into a creative space I love best—the intersection of science and art.
