This was a pivotal lookbook for Article. It was the first collection of outdoor furniture and a risky inventory investment. The campaign could only be photographed in the winter so our team went to sunny Palm Springs—and it rained almost every day. It was a highly successful campaign and established Article in the outdoor furniture business. Some of the designs in this collection continue to be great Article products several years later.

We combined the natural desert environment with the mid-century modern built space that defines Palm Springs. This juxtaposition between wild and built spaces formed part of the brand identity and, in the early days, distinguished Article from other brands in the furniture space.
